The Reverso | A Monumental Tribute

Some projects are not planned; they are felt. When I first encountered the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, it was an immediate gravitational pull. The quintessential Art Deco lines, the ingenious engineering of the flip mechanism, and the understated elegance of its design presented a specific challenge my pen could not ignore.

To honour this legacy, I began a purely personal project—a monumental, 1.5-metre tribute to the "invisible" craft of horology. Working on massive 640gsm Arches cotton paper using Uni Pin fineliners, every reflection in the steel casing and every minute hatch marking on the dial was an act of total appreciation. Hundreds of hours were dedicated to translating polished metal into thousands of disciplined ink lines on a macro scale.

What started as a solitary, nocturnal conversation between my pen and a sheet of paper ended in a moment of beautiful serendipity. The completed drawing was discovered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand themselves. It was later officially displayed at the brand’s own event, a humbling validation that when you draw with enough respect for the original craft, the world takes notice.
