The Ambition

After completing my watch series, I felt a surge of curiosity. I wanted to challenge my pen with a new industry rooted in heritage and craft. My research into James Bond had led me to Bollinger, and as someone who loves a glass of champagne, the project felt like a natural evolution. I planned a series of five monumental 1m x 1.5m drawings, each accompanied by a deep-dive YouTube documentary.

The Reality Check

I underestimated the weight of the work. Between my career as a professional illustrator, the obsessive research required for the videos, and the sheer physical demand of hatching on such a massive scale, I hit a wall. To make matters worse, an old injury from a car accident flared up. My joints couldn't keep up with my ambition.

The Lesson

I had to make the painful decision to call it off and rest for a full year. It was a heartbreaking pause, but it taught me my most valuable lesson as an artist: You cannot rush the ink, and you cannot ignore the body. The project remains "ongoing" in my heart, but for now, it stands as a tribute to the two icons I completed before the silence.
