An exclusive, museum grade limited edition print release documenting cinema's most legendary timepieces, reproduced from the monumental 1.5 metre original ink drawings by Australian draughtsman Jeesoo Kim.
Before 2020, my practice was defined by speed, movement, and the open air—capturing the fleeting energy of travel through spontaneous urban sketching. When the world paused during lockdown, I inverted my entire methodology: trading loose, plein-air line work for the uncompromising discipline and physical demands of monumental hyper realism.
Drawing directly from my time as a watch magazine illustrator, this series was conceived as a tribute to the obsessive, unseen craftsmanship of haute horlogerie. While James Bond is instantly recognisable on screen, I wanted the viewer to inspect his iconic timepieces through the loupe of a master watchmaker—bringing microscopic chamfered bevels, radially brushed stainless steel, and mechanical balance into dramatic focus.
Translating micro engineering onto a monumental 101cm × 152cm scale demanded total technical restraint. Rendered on heavyweight 640gsm Arches cotton paper using fine technical pens, the three piece suite documents three cinematic benchmarks: the vintage Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 and two modern Omega Seamasters.
There are no white gel pens, gouache highlights, or digital corrections. The brilliant flare off the domed crystals, the metallic sheen of the brushed lugs, and the sharp luminescence of the dial markers are all raw, negative space—the untouched white of the French cotton paper preserved through hundreds of hours of controlled stippling and micro hatching. With the original masterworks now held in private collections, this strictly limited print suite reproduces every micron of steel, glass, and ink with absolute fidelity.
Each tier represents a strictly capped edition run. Once an edition is exhausted, the master digital files are locked and will never be reprinted.
