Travelling with Ink is more than a study of architecture; it is a homecoming.

For years, I have called myself the Pentraveller. The name was born from an early urban sketching project in Melbourne—a coffee table book that never saw the light of day due to poor funding and planning. While the project didn't survive, the name stayed in my heart. I have always loved observing the rhythm of daily life and capturing it in my sketchbook, but during the 2020 lockdowns, that rhythm stopped.

I pivoted to hyper-realism, pouring hundreds of hours into monumental drawings of watches and luxury icons. While I focused in mastering the technicality of the 0.05mm nib, I realized I had drifted from my roots. I was drawing objects with incredible detail, but I had lost the "traveller"—the part of me that connects the ink to a lived experience.

The Return to Roots

After a period of burnout and reflection, I asked myself: Does a traveler really have to be physically moving? I realized that my most profound journeys happen between the pen and the paper.

This series is my bridge. It takes the precision I gained in the studio and applies it to the places that shaped my soul. By drawing these icons, I am not just replicating buildings; I am traveling through my own memories and solving the puzzle of my artistic identity.

The Emotional Arc

Each landmark in this collection represents a vital milestone in my 16-year journey in Australia:

  • Sydney (The Anchor): Capturing the struggle to belong and the moment the immigrant finally stopped feeling like a ghost.

  • London (The Imagination): A conversation with the builders of my childhood dreams, inspired by the stories that first invited me to dream.

  • Paris (The Perspective): Finding comfort in the "iron lace," realizing that the maze of life only reveals its beautiful design when you take a few steps back.

Project Status

  • Current State: Finalizing the last piece of the journey (Paris).

  • Medium: Uni Pin Fineliners on 300gsm–640gsm Arches Paper.

  • Release: Original works and Limited Edition Prints arriving in 2026.
